HDMI: Good receiver with many inputs and functions of E. van I have recently returned from a receiver to Onkyo TX-NR509 the HT530 for its HDMI and some of the fancy extras (networking, USB playback, etc.) Some thoughts about the recipient upgraded last gene Onkyo questions? ---------------- Do some research before buying, I was afraid that the HDMI handshake issues arising to be present for the TX-SR508 and TX-SR608 owner would, but so far so good. Currently, its use with a PS3, no problems so far. Will be updated in any case, because I come into question. Easy Setup ---------------- The old receiver is not setup Audyssey EQ was interesting the support. The process put in place ultimately doomed placed precisely in relation to the automatic removal of the speaker configuration and the values that I usually have to hand in my old handset. One for the initial setup painless! Display on the big screen ---------------- The OSD is really clean and makes the menus easy to navigate I'm not used to be able to both without looking at the built in display (which is really cool looking) receiver. The OSD-based network for playback is a bit simple, but it gets the job done. Network capabilities mediocre ---------------- Much of the spending a bit more for this model over others I was thinking was to network resources. It was really cool to get it to connect online and download a firmware update. Hopefully this means that there will be an improvement over the following: DLNA playing for the recipient. Here is where I have more trouble. PS3 Media Server I configured on my home server and media should diligently to your PS3 via a gigabit network with no problems. The TX-NR509 is able to see and connect, but that's the trouble starts. They did not identify the cause of it yet, but I noticed the folders that contain "a lot" of sub-folders or files (I'm talking about 20-30 here) to the receiver of an error and force you to go to a level directory / and try a few directories that contain only one file refused to open (I could not understand this). Let it sit there and fill the contents of folders did not help either. I was hoping I could play music from the server without turning on your PS3 and TV, so I am experiencing problems DLNA is a little scary. Fortunately, it is possible that Onkyo can fix this via a future firmware update. A review of Rodney, I tried the free OnkyTroller Android application on my phone to control the receiver. It does work, but the application looks very ugly and looks a bit limited in functionality. However, great idea. I've just noticed that surfing on my phone with DLNA folders causes jumps in the music when playing from the network (too much network activity for the recipient to handle?) Additional thoughts -------------- - - TX-NR509 is just warm after hours of use (much cooler than my old HT530)-I love the "Dynamic Volume" feature on the receiver, it prevents the opening song of TV broadcasts from radiation and helps us listen to the soft dialogue without cluttering with remote control, this receiver is pretty big compared to where they are replaced under the plan, if space is limited 20 of 21 people found the following review helpful. All in all, very good receiver, but all the features! Overall, by I. Smith, it's a good receiver and I have come to very happy with it. But there are some very important things to know about a potential buyer must first, I did not know these things when I bought it, but luckily I was able to circumvent them. The receiver of secret video formats This can be a normal thing with receivers, but it was unknown to me when I bought and read with dismay about it in the manual. This means that if, for example, an HDMI cable in the video.
