It does it all! 4 HDMI 1.3 inputs, Dolby True HD, DTS-MA, crystal clear sound. I would expect nothing less from a Pioneer Elite product. I am blown away by the amazing sounds the receiver can produce when watching a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD encoded with True HD and DTS-MA. Uncompressed audio is great and there is no way to do it justice until your hear it. That said, there are a few areas of concern that I have experienced. 1. "NOT SUPPORT" message blinks occasionally across the screen of the receiver. This is most likely due to your component or your display having an issue with HDCP. But, after talking to the Pioneer Elite team on the phone and trying to troubleshoot it, I was left with the intermittent problem. I believe the root is my Sony VPL-VW60 projector not accepting a 1080/24p signal. I think I may have eliminated the problem by outputting only 1080/60p from my Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD (Another GREAT piece of equipment). ***FOLLOW UP - The "NOT SUPPORT" was blinking because I had the HDMI Control turned off on everything. However, the HDMI control on the Receiver itself does not actually turn off (even when "off" is selected and the machine is restarted). To remedy this, I turned on the HDMI control on every piece of equipment even though I am using a universal remote and really don't need it to be turned on to select inputs. The reason I turned it off on the receiver was based on the advice from Pioneer via the telephone. They were 100% incorrect in their diagnosing of the problem. Hopefully this will be solved with future firmware updates. Using HDMI control on all components and the receiver does work almost flawlessly. I say "almost" since HDMI control is not 100% compatible between devices from different manufacturers. You can research this point many places on the web.*** 2. The onscreen menu for adjusting Receiver features and setup is HORRIBLE!! Not only is the color scheme b/w, but the text looks like something out of a 1978 PONG gaming system box. C'mon Pioneer. i know the setup menu is not super-important in the big scheme of things. But... Other than those two minor complaints, I can't imagine owning a better receiver. This receiver comes at a high price, but I believe it is well worth it if you want the best. I ordered from ButterflyPhoto via Amazon, and the unit arrived perfectly. King IV Let me start by saying that I have waited many a year before I finally upgraded my home A/V receiver. I have looked and listened to just about every new one that has come out in the past 7 years. It not that there has not been some good receivers on the market before but either it was lacking in a area that I felt meaningful to me or I just did not have the $$ available at that point in time. Another problem is that I am some what of an audiophile snob. In the back of my mind I had the idea that I just needed to wait till I could afford to get the high end separates that I thought I needed. Let me just say that the only reason that I chose the Elite VSX-94 TXH was that it meets all of my minimal requirements for home theater. To start it simply sounds wonderful. There is detail and separation of sounds and instruments voices. I can get lost in the musical canvas it unfolds. The sound stage is big and vivid. It has 140 watts per 7 channels. That is enough to drive my power hungry 4 OHM speakers. And the third reason is that it looks wonderful. It has everything I need to be an outstanding heart of for my home theater system. With its looks, brawn and musical finesse Pioneer was a real winner in the Elite 94 TXH. I am100% satisfied with it, I love it. The wait is over. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. This new circuit masterfully embodies Denon’s foremost design concept for A/V surround amps which is to "reproduce content with total fidelity to the original intent of the producer." The "simple and straight" design concept of the AVP-A1HDCI has been thoroughly implemented in the signal paths to contribute to immaculately clean audio and video playback. Signal paths are as short as possible to keep signal degradation in the audio and video circuitry to an absolute minimum. Fully separated Audio, Video, Pre-Amplifiers and Power Supplies allow for a cleaner and clearer signal path. Gilmore I ordered this USB to IrDA for communication between my Polar RS800sd and my Windows XP SP2 computer. It works great and I have had no problems transfering data. This product is an excellent alternative to Polar's expensive USB to IrDA. Note that IrDA was super seeded by bluetooth etc, so these adapters for IrDA have become hard to find. That is why Polar can charge such a high price. The official website of Cables Unlimited can be found by searching "Cables Unlimited". You can then search "USB IrDA" on their site to see all the technical information. Note the driver is also available on the web, so if you lose the disk you are still in business. Summary of the main features: - Supports IrDA data rates to 4Mbps - No power adapter. Runs off USB bus - Compatible with IrDA 1.3, USB 1.1 - Plug and Play compatible - Transmit distances to 1 meter - 30 degree max transmit angle - Comes with an additional short USB cable I would recommend this product. I am not sure if the cheaper options on Amazon are any good, as some people have said they are a bit temperamental. Do these cheaper models work with Polars? Maybe someone could post a comment on this review if they have a cheaper option that works with Polar products. This one has worked fine so far. It is true that the manual has poor English, but Windows can walk you through the installation with the usual Plug and Play installation. There is no need to worry about that aspect. Also, you should always plug the adapter into the _same_ USB port every time you use the adapter, this will prevent you having to falsely "reinstall" the driver. This is a Windows idiosyncrasy and has nothing to do with the IrDA adapter. Another reviewer said he was having trouble getting the Polar to be found by the IrDA. You need to position the Polar very close, a few centimeters, to the IrDA to get a good signal. IrDA is not like using a normal wireless Internet signal or a wireless mouse etc, you MUST BE VERY CLOSE and have a CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT to transmit properly. IrDA is unreliable even at the best of times. You may also have to sheild the sensors from objects that emit infrared light like bulbs etc. So put your Polar watch a few centimeters from the IrDA and make sure the transmitters on the polar watch (the small holes or whatever you have) face the IrDA plugged into the USB port. You may have to hold it there or get something to put the watch on that is the same height as the IrDA. Also for people having troubleshooting issues here are my settings: In your Polar software (I have Polar Protrainer 5) verify the following settings: Options -> Preferences -> Hardware -> IR Communication port -> This should be set to "IrDA" Options -> Preferences -> Hardware -> Mobile Connection -> Make sure this is unchecked Then from the same window: IR Communication port -> Options -> Make sure the first four boxes are checked. Let me also supply you with the USB-IrDA driver settings that work for me. In short everything is set to DEFAULT. I am using Driver Version 1.3.0.0 from the CD that was supplied.
